History
Regulars up at iconic Kings Cross nightclub Melt, hatonrack's JPlatnum and Flip+Skip decided in early 2009 to return to their 1990s house and club party roots and bring back to Sydney a regular jam focussed on real funk, hip hop and the dancefloor. Putting out the tender to personal and music networks, they brought in long-time friend, musician and party collaborator Dave Silva to form a core organisatonal trio.
hatonrack communicated with a number of other outfits supporting events, music and dance in Sydney, and was pleased to establish partnerships with D2MG hip hop academy (primary partner), Dancekool and Xposure.
The Scenario's slammingly successful launch show hit Kings Cross on 3rd July with performances by Dilated Nu and LHIPS dance crews, music by JPlatnum, DJ Naiki and Dave Silva, live set by 1NF0 and microphone tomfoolery by Sydney's one and only Nick Knowledge.
hatonrack looks forward to continuing to support Australian artists, musicians, dancers and - most importantly - party people with Sydney's only monthly funk and hip hop convention.
