What:

The largest survey ever undertaken about Australians and their attitudes to
the arts – More than bums on seats: Australian participation in the arts.

Based on focus groups, stakeholder interviews and 3,000 Australians surveyed, this
landmark research presents the most comprehensive picture of the way Australians
are involved with the arts this century.

Commissioned by the Australia Council, it covers both creative participation and
attendance in all major art forms including visual arts and crafts, music, theatre,
dance, reading, writing and music – and reveals surprising results.

When: - Monday, 1 March 2010

Industry/Media Briefing: -11:00am

Launch Event: - 12:30pm

Where: The Australia Council, 372 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW

Who:
The event will be attended by heads of peak arts bodies and Sydney arts organisations as well as media.

CEO, Kathy Keele, will also be available for media comment.

The launch will feature performances from the Gondwana Choirs’ Sydney Children’s
Choir, providing a strong photo or TV media opportunity.
