I just wanted to post up an Event Review for HipOpession as it was one of the best european events ive been too.
For some background information of the event. Its one of the biggest up and coming European events and has held some pretty famous battles over the last couple of years. Battles like "All the Most" Vs "mind 180, and "Flo Mo" Vs "Massive Monkees", These were all HipOpession battles and they were curial for some dudes who made their name. Other huge events in Europe which are well known include Eurobattle, Circle Kings, IBE and UK champs plus there are more events in their first year which are attracting big names Worldwide so its good to see a strong scene over here.
So to the Event this year.. Guys it was soo sick. 3v3 battles and 1v1's were the main competitions. The winners were the ZULU KINGS(Smurf, Omar, Brooks) who battled Flexible Flav(Morris, Buckingham, Future) in the finals.The winner of the 1v1 was Kleju from Funky Masons(Poland) who beat JustDoIt (holland) which was a dope final battle. Kleju has been killing it at every jam this year. Just a few weeks ago i was in Sweden for the StreetStar battles and his crew from Poland beat Flo mo/Ghost crew/Streetmasters allstar crew and came second to the Russian Federation crew which is crazy as poland hasnt made it that far in many international events ive been too.. but thats another review i cant be bothered doing. haha
So the other crews who were dope to see were Hustle Kids(Mennoh, Ata, Xisco) who lost to Supernaturals(Dyzee, Bridge, Puzzles) in the quarter finals. It was a close battle but supernaturals had some dope routines which were tight and they controlled the battle. There was abit of controversie in the first round when Vagabond lost to Flo mo(hatsolo, mercy1, A.T) cause one of the french dudes was so pissed that he lost he didnt leave the stage because he was shouting for born to come battle him. (btw the judges were Born(rivers), Hurricane(french bgirl), Cros 1(freestyle session man)) after about 5minutes of this wak french dude crying about his bat beat which wasnt a bad beat at all as Hatsolo was murdering the beat all day, Born came onto the stage to roast him which was so funny.
Then after the battles there was a big cypher where vagabond were battling ATA, Born and Mennoh which was heated. Soryy i dont have footage but im sure someone was filming it and has posted it on youtube already.
Also to let you know how i did, i entered with some friend from Manchester and out of the 35 crews they had to narrow us down to 3 and we made it to the top 6 and lost to a bgirl crew from France. Heres a link to the footage if you wanna see.
